Messages for Catholic Occasions from The Roman Catholic Archbishop of Singapore
This year we celebrate the 165th Anniversary of Catholic Education in Singapore. To enhance the thrust of Catholic Education in our schools, we are celebrating the First Catholic Education Sunday in the Archdiocese in Singapore. We need to pray for wisdom for our Catholic educators in making wise decisions in forming our students in the Spirit of Christ, which entails a holistic formation that is spiritual, academic and in human qualities as well in communitarian involvement.
Peace is the first gift of Easter which the Lord imparted to His disciples. Peace comes from the victory of Christ over sin and death. With His resurrection, we know for certain that everything has been overcome and conquered.
Time and tide waits for no man. In the humdrum of our daily activities, one day after another passes by and before we know it, we are at the threshold of yet another year. Our machinery grinds to a momentary pause as we take stock of the year in passing. Resolutions are attempted and we begin the year with a mixture of hope and trepidation of what is to come.
The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness, a light has dawned (Isaiah 9:2).
